Ásgrímur Guðbjartsson studied filmmaking at LACC and CCH in the United States from 1997 to 2003. Along he worked as an assistant cameraman and filmed short films and music videos. After completing his studies, he moved home and worked for several years as a Lighting Master before turned his attention to filmmaking.
Since then, he has shot movies, TV series, short films and a whole host of commercials.
Among the projects are Summer Children(2017), Tryggð(2019), Abbababb(2022), Ráðherrann(2020), Vegferð(2021), My Wedding(2022), Trom(2022) etc.
He was nominated for best cinematography at the Edda awards for the TV series Ráðherrann.
